Ledger is a hard wallet which runs only when there’s an external power source connected to it and helps in storing, transferring and receiving supported cryptocurrencies. It currently only supports Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash and some of its variant support ethereum with ERC20 tokens too. It is the cheapest and most secure offline hard wallet. Its setup is quite easy and can be used on any desktop computer and it also supports connecting it along with some smartphone wallets like mycelium. It requires a pin code at the time of setup which is required every time there is a transaction made. It also lacks passphrase support which is a turn down as anyone having access to a user’s seed has access to the user’s bitcoin whereas with passphrase support, both passphrase and seed are required to access the wallet.
